What a Semester

What happened the semester is already over I can't believe it! I will be honest when the first week of this class started I was a little nervous as this is an American literature class and as I have stated before I really don't read that much so I was really dreading this class. Then I saw the layout or outline from week to week with a different approach with the pods so I got even more nervous. As the weeks went by so did the pods and yes for me there was a lot of reading to someone else this reading may have been very light or easy, but for me this was a chore at least at first then I realized that this reading thing wasn't that bad. All the reading just kind of came together with all the pods and reading became less of a chore now don't get me wrong I do not plan on grabbing the biggest novel and reading it, but I don't fear reading a big story now if I have to and that is thanks to this class so thank you and I hope everyone had a great semester.

express yourself

Ah yes, poetry is such sweet sorrow, that is a phrase that is commonly heard or said when referring to the written works of art that is poetry and yes there usually is a lot of sorrow in poetry but there is also a lot of fun or happy things in poems. The beautiful thing about poetry is you can really write about anything that you want and make it sound as happy, sad, light, or dark as you want in a beautiful little story. Those little stories are all stories or forms of expressing yourself and your feelings about any certain subject which I believe is very crucial throughout a persons life there are many of different ways a person can express themselves as millions of people do on a daily basis, but there are people troubled out there that do need help finding a way to express themselves in a positive manner. I believe there needs to be more people expressing themselves in a more positive way especially children and young adults and one great way of doing that is by reading and writing in any form. Of course that is not the only positive way to express yourself as there are countless others but the point is I hope everyone can help themselves and/or others by finding what fits them as a person in a positive way.

Love Drama

I am so incredibly lucky to be married to my wonderful wife and to be loved just as much as I love her. Love can be the most amazing thing in this or any other universe or it can make your whole world crumble and fall apart if you are not careful or if you do something you were not suppose to. There are literally thousands of television shows and movies over the years that deal with many different forms of drama such as love triangles, but I have never saw or read a love story as unique and disturbing as Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter. What a twisted story about a husband, a wife, a lover, and the daughter Pearl who is in the middle of it all. As I have mentioned before I don't read that much, but this is a story and I would recommend it to all. This story made me appreciate living in modern times with my daughters and family and there is nothing I would do to jeopardize that!

Politics

Being a very important week of politics in our great nation of America whether you are a republican or a democrat for most offices across America. Governors, senators, and the highest office being the presidency of the United States all were up for grabs as the public voted and the ballots were counted some people cheered in joy, some were very mad or upset, some people were still unsure, and some people did not care but the elections have now come and gone and all the elects were chosen by the people. No one will ever be completely happy in the world of politics there will be mistakes, lows, and highs I just hope we can all come together and make our United States of America the absolute best it can be! With that being said politics have molded and shaped our nation right from the very beginning and as I am continuing to read from our American literature book I can almost see a lot of the choices in the politicking of that time jump right off the pages to me in such away I can almost picture how certain people would do certain things when it came to numerous towns, cities, states, and the nation as a whole.

The 3rd Entry

To be honest I am not sure what I'm suppose to write here but I guess will start with some of the stories I have read in this class. As I have mentioned before I am not a reader and prefer not to read anything then a few pages as a matter of fact I have read more in this class then any other class in college or at any point in high school and have passed with all A's or B's. I consider myself pretty smart as I learn more by watching, listening, and being hands on in life more so then by what any book says but I guess different strokes for different folks. So in saying all that you can imagine I have not really ever heard of any of these authors and to be honest do not really like any of them as I would rather like to read more modern and up to date stories, but I must admit I did find Fanny Fern pretty amusing at times.

Loving Fall Seasons

        It was a bright sunny beautiful autumn day with a slight cool breeze that was flinging all the beautiful multicolored leaves through out the air. On that fall day and many others like it when I was just a young boy my two older brothers and my younger sister along with myself would go outside to our huge backyard that was full of trees with tons of color changing leaves falling down to cover the once green grass to have the time of our innocent lives. That was about the only time we actually did any type of yard work as we would rake the whole yard and pile up all the leaves to a couple of huge piles were we would run, slide, jump, and push each other for hours while being completely oblivious to any and all things except the beautiful nature all around us and the loved we shared for one another while simply playing in such a great setting.
        As much fun as that was it does not even come close to what I feel now as an adult as I walk through the park kicking up all the leaves that only a lovely fall afternoon could possibly bring as I walk with my lovely wife around the beautiful trees and scenery just enjoying the moment. As we walk in the park around the playground our four wonderful and absolutely amazing kids are playing in the leaves outside just enjoying nature to the fullest as well as the finer and simpler things in life exactly like when my siblings and I used to do it all those years ago. It's funny how life repeats it's self I truly believe nature is an absolutely wonderful and amazing thing that should be shared and enjoyed by everyone. It is just simply astonishing how such simple things in a great setting in nature can put so many smiles on faces and warm found memories in our hearts.

American Literature Class

Well I just want to say I have never blogged before or really anything like it as I am not like everyone else apparently and nor do I participate in the American crazed Facebook as I am almost against it. I personally think people are getting lazier and lazier and would rather sit on their computers all day instead of getting out in the real world and talk to people in person now I guess that sounds pretty weird as I am now currently at the computer, but only because I have to for this class. Now to the topic at hand I guess I an supposed to write something about this class and literature related as what I have liked and what I did not like. Well to be brutally honest with you and everybody who really knows me knows I absolutely dread and hate reading anything bigger than a newspaper or magazine article I know that to some people that may seem sad but I say to each their own I would rather be outside working on something in the real world instead of reading old stories that I do not care anything about in the slightest. Then why am I even in this class because it is required and those are my humble thoughts for my very first blog.
